Join the Marblehead Museum for a FREE, family-friendly school vacation program! Stop by the Jeremiah Lee Mansion to help prepare 18th century gingerbread, lemon drops, march-pane, and pepper cakes. Learn about the availability and accessibility of sugar and spices in Colonial New England, including how and where sugar was produced, the many uses of today's favorite "sweet" spices, and what types of flavorings were common before vanilla became a pantry staple. Visitors are also welcome to take a tour of the Mansion's first floor, which will be open and free of charge during this program.
